Listening session #4: diminute galaxies

Águeda Macias performs on electric viola da gamba, with voice and electronics. Listening Session #4: diminute galaxies An evening of contemporary and experimental music, where early music meets electronics, voice and free improvisation. Águeda Macias — electric viola da gamba, voice & electronics In diminute galaxies, Águeda Macias explores the possibilities of the electric viola da gamba through her own compositions, electronics and free improvisation. The programme brings together contemporary compositions and experimental reinterpretations of early music. Historical works by composers such as Rognioni, Ferrabosco and Abel become starting points for new musical explorations, connecting sounds from the past with contemporary musical expression. Moving between composed and improvised music, diminute galaxies creates a sound world in which historical and contemporary musical practices meet and transform one another. Programme Uranus (The Sky) Galaxia Diminuta I (Ancor che col partire) Pluto (The Underworld) Eurydice Juno Arpeggio after Abel Galaxia Diminuta II (Sound out my voice) Farewell to faraway friends – Neptunus (The Sea) All compositions and electronics by Águeda Macias, except for works incorporating music by Rore and Rognioni (2), Abel (6), and Palestrina and Ferrabosco (7).
