Trio Harald Kimmig - violin erikM - electronics Birgit Ulher - trumpet, radio, speaker, objects Solo Gregory Büttner - electronics, speaker, objects Birgit Ulher has been living in Hamburg as a freelance musician, sound artist, and composer since 1982. Born in 1961 in Nuremberg, she initially studied painting and fine arts, which continues to exert a significant influence on her music. Ulher has developed a range of extended playing techniques for the trumpet, allowing her to craft a unique musical language centered around sound. She works with the trumpet, radio, metal foil and everyday objects, to produce electronically resonant sounds using purely acoustic means. Her particular interests lie in microtonal aspects, sound fragmentation, and the spatial dimension of sound. Beyond material exploration, she is deeply intrigued by the relationship between silence and sound. ErikM [Erik-M] is a French sound artist, electroacoustic composer, and visual artist. For over thirty years, he has developed a cross-disciplinary practice interweaving sound creation, visual art, performance, and installation. His work, deeply rooted in an expanded sonic ecology, explores the sensitive relationships between matter, perception, environment, and disruption. Gregory Büttner lives and works as a musician and artist in Hamburg. Since 2000 his main focus is on sound art and electroacoustic compositions. He performed at festivals and concert series in Europe, China and Chile, composed music for dance and performance, radio, video and sound installations. In concerts he mostly plays his electroacoustic music by using different small external loudspeakers and objects. At the same time these sounds are modulated by resonating objects placed on the speaker and by several, in everyday life used resonance bodies.
