Nika Son: Scatter, no turn

Nika Son: Scatter, no turn

Exhibition 05.12.24 – 06.12.24 16:00 – 20:00 Scatter, no turn is a multi-channel sound installation with video, objects, and light. In her work, Nika Son observes the realms of insomnia, flickering between fatigue, restlessness and yearning. The piece explores how our senses adapt in differing states, probing the distinctions between hearing and truly listening. In a world of constant stimuli and information, the artist plays with shifts in perception, memory, coincidence, and the varying sense of time, while blurring the distinction between what is audible and what is actually visible. Tones, noises, rhythms as well as voices, languages and ways of speaking interact with surrounding darkness and forced incidences of light. Performance 04.12.24 20:00 On 4th December the installation will be ignited by a performance by Nika Son (electronics), Magdalena Ceple (cello), Juditha Haeberlin (violin) and Michael Breithaupt (voice). Film Screening 06.12.24 20:00 "We, amnesiacs all, condemned to live in an eternally fleeting present, have created the most elaborate of human constructions, memory, to buffer ourselves against the intolerable knowledge of the irreversible passage of time and the irretrievability of its moments and events."
