Bioluminus

Bioluminus is a combustion machine of musical ideas and interaction. This fiery Amsterdam-based trio is comprised of Argentinian saxophonist Ada Rave (Kaja Draksler Octet, Hupata!!!), Canadian double bassist Aaron Lumley (Stadhouders & Lumley, Leo Svirsky’s River Without Banks) and Dutch drummer Onno Govaert (Omawi, Cactus Truck). Rave’s tenor playing has always boasted a voluminous tone and great control over extended techniques, but in Bioluminus her vigorous and gritty melodic playing is highlighted within the churning rhythmical maelstrom of Govaert and Lumley.
