Tarab (Eamon Sprod), Felicity Mangan, Gregory Büttner

LIVE, 3 Solos: Tarab (Eamon Sprod, Melbourne), Felicity Mangan (Berlin), Gregory Büttner (Hamburg) 1000füssler & Fragment Factory present an evening of sonic live interventions and Klangkunst extraordinaire. Samstag, 15. Februar 2020 von 20:30 Centro SocialeSternstr. 2, 20357 Hamburg For nearly 20 years, tarab has been the alias of Melbourne, AUS based Eamon Sprod. Since the early 2000's he explores re-contextualised collected sounds and tactile gestures formed into dynamic, psycho-geographical compositions inspired by discarded things, found things, crawling around in the dirt, junk, the ground, rocks, dust, wind, walking aimlessly, scratchy things, decay and most if not all the things he hears and sees. More than simply documenting a given site, TARAB is interested in a direct engagement with our surrounds, teasing out half narratives, visceral sensation, false leads and heightened awareness. Recent works have consisted of multi-channel, site responsive performances and installations for speakers, transducers, found sounds, found things, microphones and elements of the performance/installation space itself. TARAB's compositional works have been published on labels including Unfathomless (BE), 23five (US), Crónica (PT), Aposiopèse (FR) and also his own sonicrubbish imprint formed in 2018. // https://sonicrubbish.com/ // Felicity Mangan is an Australian artist and composer based in Berlin since 2008. In different situations such as solo performance, collaborative projects with other musicians or installation, Felicity plays her found native Australian animal archive and other field recordings, utilizing electro-acoustic techniques while mimicking bioacoustics, either through a stereophonic system or often via hand-made speakers made from found or displaced objects. Felicity has presented solo and collaborative projects in many different settings including galleries, gardens, clubs and festivals throughout Europe (SMK - Statens Museum for Kunst, Berlin Atonal, CTM Festival, Kunsthalle Bremen etc.). She played in collaborative projects Native Instrument (Shelter Press, Entr’acte) and Plants and Animalia and recently released Stereo’frog’ic on Longform Editions. // https://felicitymangan.org/ // Gregory Büttner is a Hamburg based sound artist, curator and label owner and has been a key figure in the city's experimental and improvised music scene for almost 15 years. As the person in charge of the 1000füssler imprint and one of the main organisers of the renowned annual blurred edges festival for contemporary music, Büttner has collaborated with several local and international artists over the years, Birgit Ulher (as part of the Stark Bewölkt quartet), Simon Whetham, Anja Winterhalter, Rhodri Davies, Asmus Tietchens, just to name a few. The many audible outputs by GB have been released by Gruenrekorder, Fragment Factory, Hideous Replica, Creative Sources Recordings and others. // http://www.gregorybuettner.de/ // - - - The first concert will start at 8:30pm sharp.
