He studied at Folkwang Hochschule Essen electronic composition and at Bauhaus University Weimar media-art/media-design. Parallel to the education in composition he started to improvise with self build electronic instruments. He is interested in unstable systems. His goal is not to control a technical aperture but to create an associative field. The sounds have their own live. His playing tries to keep them alive. He is interested in the effect acoustic activity has, the relation between surrounding environment and instruments, between abstract sounds and associations, between electrical and other worlds. hochherz.klingt.org About his instrument: in 2006 I started to use an electronic setup as an instrument. A combination of piezoelectric contact microphones and speakers and a book. The instrument is based on the feedback between the microphones and the speakers. The book is a resonator and a filter. Together it is a unstable system which allows me to play in an indirect way, by pressing the book and changing the filtering by that. The aim is not to control a technical apparatus, but to create an associative field. The sounds have their own live. In 1992, Sascha cofounded the improvisation ensemble, “beside the cage”. Since 2001, Sascha has been a member of the “emsemble integrales” in Hamburg. He also cofounded the duo “9kHz” together with Berliner, Boris Hegenbart (electronics). Sascha is also playing in the electric guitar duo „for regular fellows“ with Sebastian Reier and in another duo with the fabulous Hannes Wienert. Since 2006 Sascha is running a series for improvised music „Gegen den Strom“ together with Burkhard Friedrich. Also playing with John Eckhardt and Katrin Bethge as trio NYX and with Wu Wei in the band “nocturne chinoise”. Since 2008 curator within the KLANG! project in Hamburg. Seit 2000 liegt sein Fokus im Bereich Klangkunst und Elektroakustische Komposition.
