Malcolm Goldstein-SOLO

Der US-amerikanische Komponist, Geiger und Improvisationsmusiker Malcolm Goldstein, der heute in den USA und Kanada lebt, war schon im New York der frühen 1960er Jahre ein aktiver und wichtiger Teil der musikalischen Avantgarde. Er war Mitbegründer des Tone Roads Ensemble und performte mit dem Judson Dance Theater, beim New York Festival of the Avant Garde und bei der Experimental Intermedia Foundation. Seine Werke, besonders Kammer- und elektroakustische Musik, sind auf der ganzen Welt aufgeführt worden. Seit dieser Zeit ist er regelmäßig als ein international gefragter Geiger, ob mit improvisierter und notierter Musik, in Konzerten und auf den Festivals der Neuen Musik in den USA, Kanada und vielen europäischen Staaten aufgetreten. „For me, improvisation is getting into the sound, and the sound tells you where to go. You simply follow the sound. Improvisation is being in the present moment, with the sound, in touch with all its nuances, in touch with the energy in your body. There's a play between the two, and the gesture of your body is what makes the sound. After concerts, people often ask me what my technique was, how I made that sound, and I don't know. You do it, and you let it go. It's about being in touch with the present moment.“
