GRAVELSHARD "Gravelshard" is a quartet comprised of the combination of the duos Olaf Rupp / John Hughes and Luís Vicente / Vasco Trilla; the collision of which weaves an ever-shifting kaleidoscope of textures and fragmented melodic shrapnel. The music of "Gravelshard" is completely improvised, const- ructed from the contributions of all four members, constantly realigning and reconfiguring to shift the aural perception of linearity, fore- and back- ground. Each "Gravelshard" performance is unique and unpredictable, never stagnating or resolving the tension of the moment. The debut CD release of "Gravelshard" on the Portuguese label "Phonogram Unit" will be available at the concert. ISABEL ANDERS Solo Isabel Omara Espichicoque Anders is a German/Cuban pianist, composer, and improviser based in Berlin. Isabel began studying piano at a music academy at age 6, continuing her education, studying with the pianists Prodromos Symeonidis and Vladimir Tropp, eventually leading her to the decision to focus on her own composition and unique approach to improvi- sation, rather than aspiring to become a classical pianist. Isabel's intention with improvisation is to conduct a musical dialogue with the other performers, and to let ideas and inspiration from various sources and art forms merge in a non-elitist manner into a timeless form of expression. + Austellung von Rüdiger Tillmann Die Waldbilder Rüdiger Tillmanns sind deskriptiv, keine romantische Verklärungen: Sie zeigen Wälder, so wie sie heute aussehen. Die Ergebnisse, mit traditionellem Zeichenhandwerk – Tusche und Stahlfeder – eingefangen, zeigen Hybride aus Kultur und Natur: einen Schießstand umgeben von wildgewachsenem Unterholz, einen angelegten Waldweg neben Baumstämmen, die vom Sturm umgeknickt sind, einen Futterstand im Mischwald. Der enorme Zeitraum, den ein Wald in sich bergen kann, wird anhand eines verrotteten Baumstumpfs neben sprießendem Laubwerk greifbar gemacht. Tillmanns Bilder laden ein, den Wald zu betreten.
